The EU has awarded funding of 7 M€ to an international consortium led by Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) to study the significance of gut microbiota as a driver of chronic systemic inflammation and the role of microbiota in the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases.An additional 1,8 M€ has been granted by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).Spinverse supported the consortium in the proposal preparation. The ENDOTARGET project will start in January 2023.

In December, we welcomed yet a another group of skilled and experienced experts to the Spinverse team to enforce our service offering and competence in industry investments, energy sector, digital services and health technologies. Great to have you onboard Katri, Antti, Rodrigo, Sukant and Juho. 

In 2023, the EU Commission will be allocating close to 1  B€ to the most promising European defence development and research projects. The call texts are due to be published in the spring of 2023, but now is the time for companies and research entities to start making plans for EDF 2023.

Spinverse works with Tietoevry in running their Veturi programme and ecosystems, aiming to develop affordable, accessible, and trusted digital services for citizens globally. Spinverse supported Tietoevry in securing the funding of 20 M€ from Business Finland and is now supporting Tietoevry to run the various activities in this vibrant programme. The programme is part of Business Finland initiative to solve some of society's most pressing challenges through increased research, development, and innovation investments in Finland.

CTO Forum 2022 was arranged in hybrid format in Espoo on 10^th November, bringing together CTOs from various industries. The key theme of this autumn’s event was to discuss national long-term R&D planning and its impacts and implications to business and society. Following the workgroup discussions, Maija Lönnqvist from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment gave a keynote about the current state of the development of the national long-term R&D plan and the next steps of its drafting. What is more, the nomination period for the CTO of the Year 2023 and Innovation Professor of the Year 2023 was opened!

Our Health team and ICT & Electronics team are delighted to announce that Jeroen Pouwels and SangEun Park have recently joined Spinverse. Jeroen’s wide expertise on molecular life sciences and R&D experience in oncology, among others, will be a significant addition to the subject matter expertise for our customers in the health sector. The ICT & Electronics team is looking forward to SangEun’s contribution in supporting the customer projects in various administrative tasks to ensure everything runs smoothly.
