City of Espoo received the 2018 Intelligent Community of the Year award given by the Intelligent Community Forum at its Global Summit in London June 6, 2018. Espoo was honored in its first year as a competitor in the program after a year-long evaluation that included a quantitative analysis of extensive data, site inspections by the Intelligent Community Forum and votes from an international jury made up of experts from around the world.

EuroNanoForum 2017 event concluded on 23rd of June in Valletta, Malta after three successful conference and exhibition days that attracted participants from over 40 countries and brought nanotechnology and open innovations in focus to strengthen the competitiveness of European manufacturing industries. In addition to being a co-organiser of the event, Spinverse took an active participant role as well, with Managing Director Laura Koponen, headlining a plenary session on "nanotechnologies for industrial success".
Together with Confederation of Finnish Industries (Elinkeinoelämän keskusliitto EK), Oulu Entrepreneurship Society and Alltime, Spinverse facilitated the SMEhack to solve the global problem of littering. Verkotan Oy starts the business with funding from Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation, in the framework of the Innovation Mill program.

Food freshness indicator is a smart label that reacts to certain chemicals and helps to determine whether a food product is still fresh and safe to eat. Indicatorium is aiming to introduce food freshness indicator to the global markets. Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation will finance the initial stage of the project.

Large corporations join Slush too!
The present year's Slush happening was a demonstration in force for Finland. 5000 people attended, 1000 companies, 100 billions worth of capital investors as well as domestic and foreign celebrities ranging from the President of Estonia to Miss Finland.
Spinverse is organising the third international event integrating nano, materials and production technologies. Industrial Technologies 2014 follows the success of the previous Industrial Technologies conferences in Brussels in 2010 and in Aarhus in 2012.

The second Finnish-Russian Innovation Alliance on Nanotechnology Partner Day was held within the frameworks of the 3rd EU-Russia Innovation Forum & 21st EBN Annual Congress in Lappeenranta, Finland on 14.06.2012
The event’s aim was to discuss challenges related to IPR management within the frameworks of cross-border nanotechnology commercialization and cover crucial themes that should be taken into account when technology is looking for investors. The seminar was arranged by Spinverse and there were over 50 participants including Innovation Alliance Partner Organizations, from both academia and business in Europe and Russia.
