“The rapid growth of electrification of traffic and energy storages will create a large demand for skilled workforce in Finland.According to most estimates, the number of electric vehicles sold will grow by about 20–30 % annually until 2030.The size of the growth will lure skilled employees in an unprecedented manner. Also, our neighbouring countries will attract employees from Finland,” says Timo Ropponen, Director and Team leader for Manufacturing and Energy at Spinverse.

We started the new year by welcoming many new colleagues to join the Spinverse teams to enforce our services to our clients in many focus areas such as challenge-driven innovation services, sustainability, industrial applications in manufacturing and the lithium battery value chain. This is to acknowledge their contribution to our and our customers’ success and to encourage them in their professional growth, and to take on more responsibility in their roles. In this round of promotions, we are celebrating Miguel, John, Saija, Cloé, Leena and Vanessa for their stellar contribution.

Dijana Soininen joined the Spinverse team as Head of People and Culture a few months ago to help us nurture and evolve our company culture in times of rapid growth. We wanted to ask her about her first impressions at Spinverse and her insights into company culture and our work environment.

Spinverse has a solid track record of helping customers receive public funding, with more than 500 M€ secured for our customers. Our funding experts know how to navigate through the jungle of applying for public funding and how to help prepare the best possible project proposal in calls for national or EU funding. However, Spinverse expertise does not end there, but we can also help when it comes to kicking off, managing, leading and coordinating a funded project.

Industryhack Oy, a consulting company specialised in co-creation methods, and an innovation consulting company Spinverse Oy have reached an agreement where the operating assets of Industryhack business are transferred to Spinverse. As a result of this asset deal, Spinverse strengthens their ecosystem program management services, expertise on challenge-based development operations, and the network of innovative SMEs.

Spinverse is happy to announce the election of their CEO Laura Koponen as the deputy board member in the Technology Industries of Finland, the lobbying organisation for technology industry companies. Laura Koponen will bring to the board her extensive expertise and understanding on the opportunities of public funding to accelerate companies’ growth, competitiveness and renewal.

CTO Forum is an invitational community for Finland's Chief Technology Officers, organised since 2011. The key theme in this autumn’s event on 3rd November 2021 was to discuss how Finland is aiming to solve global challenges. The hybrid networking and idea-sharing event brought together a good number of CTOs and other technology leaders representing a wide variety of Finnish industries. In discussions and workshops, participants were sharing valuable insights on how to best utilise our technology sector and how public programmes can support these efforts. What is more, the nomination period for the CTO of the Year 2022 and Innovation Professor of the Year 2022 was opened!

As the annual cycle soon closes, October Q4 opened a new and continuous wave of EU funding calls. Many organizations might be focusing on reporting of the current year, but don’t forget this is also the time to build the next year’s strategy and work plans considering some funding deadlines can spawn into Spring 2022.
