Welcoming Robert to the Defence team

Our Defence and Security team is growing. We are happy to have Robert Eklund joining the team as an Analyst as of June 2022.

Before Robert joined Spinverse’s Defence and Security team led by Anu Ilmonen, he accumulated related industry experience and insights by working with policy questions on transatlantic security, defence and trade issues. Among other activities, he has served as a peacekeeper in the Finnish contingency to the UN peacekeeping force in Southern Lebanon and worked with policy issues at Amcham Finland. He has also worked at the Johns Hopkins University’s SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations based in Washington, D.C. 

Robert holds a B.Soc.Sc. in political science and public administration from the University of Helsinki and is currently finishing his M.Sc. His studies have included advanced studies in journalism and communication as well as strategy and defence policy at the National Defence University. He completed his exchange studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, U.S. 

In his position as an Analyst with Spinverse, Robert will support the Defence team with various tasks related to complex funding projects with defence technology customers and consortiums throughout Europe. He says: “I am delighted to get to both work with and learn from the Spinverse community and the Defence and Security team. Everyone seems like an absolute professional and the welcome has been both warm and supportive. I look forward to engaging colleagues and customers alike.”
