A new update on the ELISE AI Catalogue brings together academia and industry within Europe

Finding the right partners may often prove to be one of the obstacles to develop or commercialise new AI solutions. An activity within the ELISE network has addressed this challenge by launching a catalogue in 2022 that provided a broad sample on European research organisations focused on AI, thus making it easier for academia and industry to find the right partners for a fruitful collaboration. There is now an updated version available, this time bringing nodes from the European industry.

A project within the ELISE network has addressed this challenge by launching a Catalogue that provides cherry-picked information on European research organisations focused on AI research, thus making it easier for academia and industry to find the right partners for a fruitful collaboration. There is now a new version available with additional AI nodes from ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems).

The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) will be launched at the end of November

The CBE partnership worth 2 billion euros between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) is the successor of BBI partnership. Bio-based industries are considered to be a key enabler of the green transition towards a resilient and environmentally sustainable EU economy. The CBE JU’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the Work Programme for 2022 are expected to be adopted in Q1-Q2 of 2022, after which the first CBE JU call for project proposals will be launched, bringing growth opportunities to companies working in this sector.

Circular biocarbon project secures 15 M€ to build the first European refinery for municipal solid waste and sewage sludge

Urbaser, a global environmental management company, and their subsidiary Socamex, will lead a pan-European CIRCULAR BIOCARBON project, launched in summer 2021. The project aims to build the first biorefinery for municipal solid waste and sewage sludge in Europe. Spinverse supported Urbaser at the project proposal phase. As a result of a successful grant application, the circular biocarbon project will be partially funded by 15 M€ from Bio-based Industries (BBI) Joint Undertaking subsidy provided by the European Commission.

Spinverse supported FuturoLEAF to secure 2.9 M€ of funding for a sustainable photosynthetic cell factory concept

The FuturoLEAF research project was kicked off in autumn 2020 after receiving funding from the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) EU call. The aim of the FuturoLEAF project is to design a solid-state cell factory (SSCF) that efficiently captures COand light by using photosynthetic microbial cells and nanocellulosic building blocks, thus enabling more efficient and sustainable chemical production. Spinverse supported the project consortium in the project proposal phase, securing a winning proposal in this competitive call.
