The PHEMS project consortium led by Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) will advance data-driven research and innovation activities in pediatrics and the use of privacy-preserving datasets in Europe. The project’s aim is to overcome important barriers that currently hinder cross-border collaboration on health data by developing and validating a decentralized federated health data ecosystem. This will enable an ecosystem without central data repositories or release of sensitive personal health data from hospitals. The proposal preparation was supported by Spinverse. 

As a result of the recent agreement reached between the European Union and UK, researchers and organisations in the UK will be able to participate in Horizon Europe at the same level with their counterparts in EU Member States and will have access to Horizon Europe funding. This welcome change comes into force as of 1^st of January 2024.

The European Commission has launched the ‘Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy’ together with an Action of 82 initiatives that lay the foundation for how the EU transport system can achieve its green and digital transformation and a 90% cut in emissions by 2050.

We have witnessed strong growth in public funding for the health sector, and we are excited to have an opportunity to be part of various important projects that aim to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in the health sector. 

The updated EU Industrial Strategy highlights the need to accelerate the green and digital transition of the EU industry and its ecosystems. Tourism, as the most heavily hit ecosystem by the COVID-19 crisis, will be the first to have its transition pathway. The calls for project proposals are now presented. 

Spinverse works with Tietoevry in running their Veturi programme and ecosystems, aiming to develop affordable, accessible, and trusted digital services for citizens globally. Spinverse supported Tietoevry in securing the funding of 20 M€ from Business Finland and is now supporting Tietoevry to run the various activities in this vibrant programme. The programme is part of Business Finland initiative to solve some of society's most pressing challenges through increased research, development, and innovation investments in Finland.
