For Finland to thrive, we need continuous growth in knowhow and Finland-based companies that have the ability to create new and globally competitive businesses. Networks and ecosystems play an increasingly important role in the competitiveness of technology companies and are on the agenda for sustainable growth in Finland and Europe. There are already a number of research and innovation ecosystems seeking for the minimum of billion-euro business. Spinverse recently completed an extensive study, commissioned by Technology Industries of Finland. In the study, some of these growth-seeking ecosystems in Finland were analysed and recommendations to spur their growth were given.
Business Finland and companies involved in its digitalisation programs have joined forces to fund research and development activities with one billion euros in the upcoming five years. Spinverse is commissioned to help in getting the most out of the billion in this big digital transformation for Finland.

Digitalisation is expected to bring major benefits in health care, both as effective health care solutions and in cost savings. Finland is investing significantly in R&D of both fields to become the world leader in health tech in the upcoming years. CleverHealth Network is an innovation ecosystem where Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) and a group of prominent Finnish technology companies use health care data to develop together better health care solutions for Finns and successful export products for the companies. Spinverse facilitates the ecosystem, acting as a key driver for these new innovations in health tech.
The new year 2020 at Spinverse is off to a great start as we welcome new expertise to the management team. We are pleased to announce the hiring of Patrick Halford as of January 2020 to lead the Key Digital Technologies (KDT) business unit.

In an EU project, experts in market benefit and business models can feel that they are working in the shadow of technical developments, but, when the penny drops, the popularity increases. Ulrika Wahlström at IMCG is Innovation Project Manager and leads work packages that are often called something like "exploitation, innovation management, dissemination and business models" in many EU projects. Mirka, an innovative Nordic manufacturer of high-quality surface finishing products and tools, boldly develops new technologies in its quest to bring digital processes to the traditional surface finishing industry. The currently ongoing development work aims at meeting the customer need for automated production lines, where robot-assisted sanding plays a key role. The development is carried out in an extensive Surf Value ecosystem project, facilitated by Spinverse.
