2019 CTO's of the year have been chosen by a jury of Finnish technology influencers.
The CTO of the Year Europe 2018 awards were announced today during EU Industry Days in Brussels. The winners in both categories excel in driving sustainability through innovative use of technology in their companies and surrounding ecosystem.
The title of the CTO of the Year is awarded annually to highlight the importance of Chief Technology Officers to the future competitiveness of Finnish industries. Promote the CTO who has made an impact not only to his or her company, but also in Finland and globally. You can nominate anyone who is responsible for their company's technology in Finland. The nomination period is open until the 21th of January 2019.
This year the CTO Survey mapped which Radical technologies are the most interesting and in which areas Finland could have a competitive edge. The CTO’s were also asked which areas state and other research institutes should allocate their research and development investments.
The study covers the whole value chain of the battery industry ecosystem: Materials, Cells and modules, Applications and Recycling. We will identify and assess the offering and needs of the existing actors in this field, and define the opportunities and prerequisites for new value creation and platforms.
”This decision is a great commitment made by the Finnish Government to develop our world-leading innovation system further. It will significantly improve the possibility for Finnish innovation players to build ecosystems that have global significance,” says Spinverse Founder and Chairman Pekka Koponen, who also acts as the chair of the Innovation working group of Technology Industries of Finland.
