The Spinverse Team is Growing

Spinverse has grown its innovation ecosystems and business consulting business areas with five new professionals.

Pekka Viljakainen has been appointed as Senior Consultant. He is an expert on commercialization of new technologies with hands-on experience in creating new businesses, process and product development and project management. Pekka has a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering. At Spinverse Pekka’s duties include projects associated with the use of renewable energy.

Elina Voutilainen has been recruited as Project Manager. She has extensive experience in project management leading both national and multinational projects. Elina has an M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tampere University of Technology. Currently her duties involve Horizon 2020 related project proposal preparations with several clients. “Spinverse is a great place to work with latest technologies and innovative people with a make-it-happen attitude,” says Elina

Matti Kymenvaara joined the team as Project Manager. Matti is an expert in business models based on natural resources with a special focus on bioeconomy, and has previously worked in several project management and development positions in the field. His main working objective is related to public-private-partnerships (PPP). At the moment, Matti is assisting FIBIC in starting a new research program. Matti is passionate about export of technology and best practices.  “If you have a strong vision and little boldness, you are almost there,” Matti describes his working principle. He holds an M.Sc. degree in Forestry from the University of Helsinki.

Anna Mannila started as an Analyst in late October. She recently graduated from Aalto University with an M.Sc. degree in Micro and Nanosciences. At Spinverse, Anna is involved in the ENIAC JU project PROMINENT, which aims to develop novel additive manufacturing methods for MEMS processes. “I greatly enjoy, that I can put my hard-earned knowledge to use in my work,” Anna comments.

Nicolas Svetkow also works as an Analyst. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management and is finishing his Master’s Thesis in Aalto University on Innovative Approaches to Drug Development Financing in a Stock Listed Pharmaceutical Company. Nicolas is currently working on the IP4Plasma project performing market analysis. The IP4Plasma project involves the commercialization of innovation in the medical and diagnostics sector, aiming to use European IPR-protected atmospheric pressure plasma technologies to develop faster and more cost effective tuberculosis and HIV testing, for instance. ”The most exciting part of my work is being involved with companies from many different industries. Academic knowledge provides a good framework for understanding businesses, but applying this knowledge on real-life cases is the true learning experience!” Nicolas says.
