In February, we are delighted to welcome two new colleagues at Spinverse. Sanaz Jamalzadeh joins the Digital Health team and Evangelos Sklavounos joins the Manufacturing team, each bringing onboard subject matter expertise in cancer research, machine learning and decarbonisation in the manufacturing industry.

Sanaz Jamalzadeh (Ph.D.) joins the Digital Health team as Consultant. Sanaz holds a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the University of Helsinki with a focus on Machine Learning approaches in cancer research. Her research has been awarded with several foundations in Finland including Orion research Foundation, Wihuri foundation and Finnish Cancer Society. Throughout her Ph.D. research, she contributed to several European Horizon 2020 projects, including HERCULES and DECIDER, working in collaboration with Helsinki and Turku University Hospitals.

Her expertise in health informatics led her to collaborate as a Data Science Consultant with leading pharmaceutical companies in the Nordics such as AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The rapid advancements in digital health have been a driving force in her career, and Sanaz — and we at Spinverse — are excited to continue exploring innovative solutions together.

Evangelos Sklavounos (Ph.D.) joins the Manufacturing team as Project Manager. He is leading projects aiming at helping customers with preparing funding proposals. His interests are especially in innovative technologies that support decarbonization of the energy sector and the manufacturing industry. Evangelos has over 15 years of international experience from working in Universities, EU organizations, SMEs and listed companies. Before joining Spinverse, Evangelos worked as a Process Design Engineer, Consultant and Project Manager. In his Project Manager role for a major biofuel manufacturer, he led projects focused on different areas such as Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) technology improvements, competitor intelligence, technology evaluation & benchmarking. Evangelos has significant R&D experience from developing processes and products for the Pulp & Paper Industry while doing research work in academia. Additionally, during his traineeship at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), Evangelos got valuable experience on EU chemicals legislation.

Evangelos holds a Ph.D. degree on Biorefining technologies from Aalto University. In his free time, Evangelos enjoys cooking, travelling, playing basketball and spending time with his children’s hobbies.
