Welcome to the Spinverse team: Ville, Tapio and Pasi
In November we got three new colleagues to join our ranks to strengthen our expertise in bioeconomy, manufacturing, and industrial investments. Meet Ville Maijala, Tapio Lehtinen and Pasi Ojala.
Ville Maijala joined the Industrial investments team as a Senior Consultant, reporting to Jani Peurakoski. His focus is on EU funding programmes and providing clients with debt and other financial advisory. Ville boasts an extensive network of domestic and international banks, other financial organisations, and C-level decision makers in Finnish large corporates. He is very familiar with banks' credit processes, loan documentation, balance sheet optimization and all financial instruments. After graduation Ville worked in the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Trade Promotion unit with close collaboration with Finnpro, foreign embassies, other ministries, planning trade promotion campaigns and hosting numerous international business delegations. Ville has made a 15+ year career in large corporate banking where he has gained an in-depth product knowledge of various financial instruments, leading international team of banking professionals and providing corporates with bi-lateral loans and participated numerous syndicated loan transactions. He has financed several M&A and IPO related deals while also having been involved with many Capital Market transactions.
Tapio Lehtinen joined us as a Consultant in the Bioeconomy team, reporting to Kaisu Leppänen. Tapio is experienced with sustainable bioprocess development and laboratory automation, as well as with grant proposal preparation and scientific writing. Before joining Spinverse, Tapio worked in academic research as well as in a clinical laboratory. His research work focused on the development of microbial bioprocesses that utilize sustainable raw materials such as CO2 and lignin. Besides academic research, he also has experience from industrial-scale fermentation process development. Tapio holds a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Biotechnology from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, and a M.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology from University of Tampere, Finland.
Pasi Ojala works at Spinverse as a Senior Consultant in the Manufacturing team, reporting to Timo Ropponen. In his new role with us, Pasi helps customers in their R&D and funding planning. His interests are especially in open innovation within project consortiums. Pasi has more than 20 years of experience in the manufacturing and telecom industries, as well as in the start-up scene. Before joining Spinverse, Pasi was developing digital solutions to create data-driven service business processes. As a founder and an entrepreneur, he built ideas into a commercial service to solve customers’ problems. Pasi has also managed research projects, created IPR and had an essential role in technology contributions to telecom and media standardisation. Pasi holds a Ph.D. degree on Automation and Systems Technology from Aalto University (Helsinki University of Technology). According to Pasi, blending in into the Spinverse team as a newcomer has been very smooth. Pasi is excited to contribute to new projects and customer cases.
