The next Innovation Fund call is open - are you ready to apply for funding for your innovative investment?
The EU Innovation Fund offers EUR 2.9 billion in financial support to companies investing in innovative solutions to decarbonise EU’s energy and industry. The new call texts (IF25) were published on the 4th of December 2025 with topics for different CAPEX scales, clean-tech manufacturing and pilots. With a strong track record of successful projects with our customers, we are again looking forward to providing our expertise to the project development and proposal preparation process – whether a new project or a resubmission.
Highlights from the call opened in December 2025 (IF25):
Deadline: 23 April 2026, with results in October-November 2026
Large scale (CAPEX over EUR 100 million) budget: EUR 1.2 billion (same as in 2024)
Medium scale (CAPEX between EUR 20 and 100 million) budget: EUR 300 million (EUR 200 million in 2024)
Small scale (CAPEX between EUR 2,5 million and 20 million) budget: EUR 100 million (EUR 100 million in 2024)
Clean-tech manufacturing budget: EUR 1 billion million (EUR 700 million in 2024)
Pilot budget: EUR 300 million (EUR 200 million in 2024)
Eligible countries: EU Member States, Norway and Iceland
Emphasized sectors: Synthetic aviation fuel, maritime fuel.
Main novelties of the IF25 call for proposals:
| No separate topic for batteries |
| Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) methodology implementation now required |
| Replicability restructured: “Further deployment” criterion removed |
| Bonus points restructured: “Other GHG savings” and “Commitment to use electricity from additional renewable sources or to use RFNBOs” removed. “ |
| Bonus point for “projects coordinated and implemented by small and medium-sized enterprises” added. |
