Spinverse successfully supported Robocoast for their project renewal in advancing European Digital Innovation Hubs

Backed by the Digital Europe Programme, the Robocoast European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) helps manufacturing SMEs adopt AI, cybersecurity and other digital technologies and drive sustainable growth and global competitiveness in the EU. For the first Robocoast EDIH project in 2022, Spinverse supported the consortium in articulating their vision and map out the impact on European scale. Again in 2025, Spinverse supported Robocoast in designing a continuation project. In this project, the focus will be on unlocking AI technologies to manufacturing SMEs across a wide range of verticals in Finland and beyond.

During its three years of operation, the Robocoast EDIH has reached a high level of maturity, having delivered more than 2,000 (and counting) services to companies. This positions Robocoast as one of the top performers among all European EDIHs. This year, Spinverse teamed up again with the Robocoast consortium to ensure this Finnish excellence can expand its work for the next three years to further help SMEs become more skilled, innovative and competitive in the digital era.

In mid-July 2025, the European Commission gave Robocoast the green light to continue the project with a new three-year grant as well as rewarded the excellence of the proposed activities with a perfect score. The renewed focus on AI speaks to the strengths of the consortium as well as links well with the cybersecurity topics in current turbulent times. The upcoming activities aim to consolidate earlier results and amplify the impact Robocoast makes nationally as well as across Europe.

The European Commission acknowledged that the Robocoast EDIH has proven am indispensable local player to strengthen the competitiveness of European and particularly Finnish SMEs, by supporting their digital and clean transition, with a focus on AI and cybersecurity.

According to Tortoise Global AI Index, Finland is a true frontrunner in the basic AI adoption drivers but lags behind on innovation drivers compared to other countries in the EU and globally. A timely adoption of AI, such as the one EDIHs will support, will prove essential to allow Finnish companies, especially in legacy sectors, to fully exploit the benefits of AI at country level.

The newly approved Robocoast project continues to be coordinated by Prizztech Ltd. with Mikko Puputti as the Coordinator of Robocoast digital innovation hub. Spinverse was delighted to support Robocoast also during the second funding proposal process with the Digital Europe fund. Mikko Puputti sums up: “It was a pleasure to work with Spinverse – their expert support helped us clearly articulate our project’s impact and vision in line with EU-level expectations. The full-score approval of Robocoast’s continuation project is a strong recognition of our work and strengthens our ability to promote AI adoption, digital capabilities and global competitiveness of SMEs in Finland and across Europe."
