Green and digital transition are pathways for EU tourism industry

The updated EU Industrial Strategy highlights the need to accelerate the green and digital transition of the EU industry and its ecosystems. Tourism, as the most heavily hit ecosystem by the COVID-19 crisis, will be the first to have its transition pathway. The calls for project proposals are now presented.

The actions of this pathway will form the key elements of the upcoming European tourism agenda 2030/2050. The agenda is based on the Commission’s transition pathway for tourism and includes a multi-annual work plan with actions to be taken by the EU countries, the Commission and tourism stakeholders. It covers five priority areas: green transition, digital transition, resilience and inclusion, skills and support, and the enabling policy framework and governance.

The calls for project proposals with deadlines later this year and in the beginning of November are now presented. It is time to start your project ideation and project development processes!

Spinverse Sweden AB (formerly IMCG International) have supported destinations for many years, even before, during and after the COVID-19 crisis. The focus areas for ideation and project development are Sustainability and Digitalization. The support has led to projects for destination development where digital infrastructure is a main theme and projects for event industry where sustainability actions based on digital services is a main theme.

Spinverse experts have participated in the activities of the Directorate General Growth under the Tourism Transition Pathway process and look forward to supporting project development for the many upcoming calls.
