Warm welcome to Ville, Akseli and Hugo to support the Industrial Investments team
We have the pleasure to introduce our three Analyst Trainees Ville Virkkunen, Akseli Makkonen and Hugo Kallio-Mannila, who joined our Industrial Investments team, reporting to Jani Peurakoski.
Ville Virkkunen is a Master's student from Aalto University joining the Industrial Investments team as an Analyst Trainee. The knowledge Ville has gained from his studies in finance as well as his genuine interest towards innovative solutions drove Ville to Spinverse as he wants to take part in meaningful projects. Ville will be working with Innovation Fund Business Plans, with a focus on the financial planning of the client’s project.
Ville has gained experience from a Summer Internship at a Nordea Bank’s subsidiary Nordea Finance. On top of the professional and the academic side, Ville can be seen spending his time either on the golf course, running or playing different racquet sports.
Akseli Makkonen is currently completing his M.Sc. (Econ) in Finance from LUT University. His studies in finance from LUT University and an exchange semester at Skema Business School provide a great base for the project's financial side. Sustainable aspects in studies and global growth of sustainable finance sparked his interest towards innovative projects and businesses. His focus at Spinverse is working with EU Innovation Funds and the projects' financial side.
Before Spinverse, Akseli had internships in YIT's Treasury team and Uponor's Payments Operations team. He worked with cash and liquidity management and group cash forecasting. In his spare time, Akseli likes to do different sports and activities with his friends. In the summer, he likes to play golf and tennis and go to music festivals, and in the winter, he enjoys skiing, both alpine skiing and cross-country skiing.
Hugo Kallio-Mannila will soon graduate with a Master’s degree from Hanken School of Economics, where he has studied finance as his major. His passion towards financing, and innovative ventures drove him into joining the Spinverse team. Specifically, he is set to join the Industrial Investments team as an Analyst Trainee, where he will channel his financial expertise by focusing on the EU Innovation Funds.
Prior to Spinverse, Hugo has gained practical experience via internships. He served as an asset management trainee at Areim, where he concentrated on the apartment portfolio. He has also had an internship at Aktia, in the AML team. Furthermore, he has been part of a Hackathon as a Market Analyst. In his free time, Hugo likes to play tennis, fishing, and immerse in board games.
