We started the new year by welcoming many new colleagues to join the Spinverse teams to enforce our services to our clients in many focus areas such as challenge-driven innovation services, sustainability, industrial applications in manufacturing and the lithium battery value chain. A warm welcome to Marja, Mirja, Michael, Aino, Sergei, Satu and Petri!

New expertise in the Sustainable Industries business unit

Marja Jallinoja (1st from left, front row in the main photo) works at Spinverse as an Innovation Consultant in the Sustainable Industries business unit, reporting to Vice President Risto Savolainen. Marja joins us from Luke, Natural Resources Institute Finland, where she worked as a researcher in the Bioeconomy and Environment Unit. At Spinverse, Marja will strengthen our expertise on sustainability aspects such as Greenhouse Gas and carbon footprint calculations.

Strengthening our challenge-driven innovation expertise with three new colleagues

Three of our new colleagues come from Industryhack, a company Spinverse acquired in late 2021. They bring with them strong expertise on challenge-driven innovation services and other important skills.

Petri Vilén joins Spinverse as Creative Director. He joined us after his consulting company Industryhack was acquired by Spinverse. Currently, he is responsible for developing the Spinverse offering in areas of challenge-driven innovation and community management.

Aino Heiska (1st from right, back row) works with Spinverse as an Innovation Consultant in the Digital Industries business area. As a partner at Industryhack, Aino managed or took part in managing more than 60 innovation challenge projects and other co-creation programs and activities based on design thinking, lean start-up and agile methodologies. Aino will continue working with Spinverse clients to bring these experiences for the benefit of corporate innovation and ecosystems.

Satu Huotari also comes from Industryhack and now works with us as a Consultant in the Smart Cities and Mobility team. She is an expert in project management and co-creation. Rather than specializing in a certain topic, Satu characterizes herself as a generalist, who can work with multiple different topics.

New Project Managers to the Manufacturing and Energy team

Director and Team Leader Timo Ropponen is pleased to have new team members to his team. They will bring expertise in the areas of polymer technology, circular economy, industrial applications, lithium battery value chain and recycling, for instance.

Mirja Andersson (1st from left, back row) joins Spinverse as a Senior Project Manager in Timo’s team. She has prepared and managed RDI projects for sustainable technologies with co-operational industrial networks for more than 15 years. During the past 10 years, she has been active in academic leadership and in operative management of a higher education institution in the field of energy and materials technology as Vice Head and Head of the department.

Sergei Chekurov (1st from right, front row) joined Spinverse as a Project Manager in the Manufacturing and Energy team. He will coordinate and support innovative customer projects from their inception to completion. Sergei’s background is in academia, where he conducted research on the industrial applications of Additive Manufacturing. During his academic career, he refined his skills in engineering and social science research methods, academic writing, teaching, and research and investment project preparation. Sergei has extensive experience in organizing and leading research projects in several KICs of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

Michael Saulny (in the middle, front row) joined Spinverse’s Manufacturing and Energy team as a Project Manager. Michael has more than 8 years of working experience in technical industrial companies, and he has gained expertise in lithium battery value chain, circular economy, recycling of metals and e-waste as well as in semiconductor processing.

We are very excited to start the journey with our new colleagues and are looking forward to working with all of them on innovative and sustainable projects to ensure success for our customers! Stay tuned for our open positions later in spring as we continue our growth story.
