Clean Hydrogen Partnership of Horizon Europe has been launched
This week has been the European Hydrogen week! On Monday the 29th November, the Horizon Europe Clean Hydrogen Partnership was officially launched, following the footsteps of Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking. This brand new partnership will have a budget of 2 B€, and it is a joined collaboration between The Commission, Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research. The official website for the new partnership is expected to open soon.
The fast acceleration of the development of European hydrogen economy started after summer 2020 when the Commission published their hydrogen strategy. Companies around Europe have since published their initiatives related to hydrogen, and in Finland especially the work of the Finnish Hydrogen Cluster has been active. The recently published Innovation Fund results from the first round had good representation of hydrogen related activities.
The new partnership funding opportunities will have a large share directed to research projects, but additionally we expect to see support for demonstrations and flagship projects, as well as more hydrogen valleys around Europe.
The annual work plan of Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking and the first calls for funding proposals are expected to be published soon with funding possibilities covering hydrogen production, hydrogen distribution, transport solutions, heating and power, and cross cutting topics. We’ will keep you informed!
