The Alliance for Materials way to the creation of the Materials Common House – MATCH kicked off
The MATCH project funded by the European Union within the Horizon 2020 framework programme was initiated to strengthen and deepen the Alliance4Materials strategy with a further increased stakeholder network. Spinverse is a work package leader on communications and events section and is also participating in a work package related to the identification of success stories and analysis of the best practices.
The objective of MATCH is to create a strong, reliable, sustainable, open and inclusive network where any European Materials players from industry, research and university could feel comfortable and can gain real value for their own interest and expectations as far as Materials R&D&I is concerned as a sustainable pillar for all. Moreover, the consortium is set to promote the integration of concerted and strategic challenges of regional and European needs in the field of Materials R&D&I, as a cross cutting element to boost European growth.
The MATCH project is focused on four main targets, crucial for the promotion of European sustainable development and innovation actions, as anticipated by future challenges to:
- the enlargement and effective improvement within the existing Materials network at EU level
- the multidisciplinary connection of Materials to a plethora of fields relevant for European growth and where concerted management actions are needed
- the integration with existing and/or promotion of new Materials networks at National and Inter/Regional levels
- the integration of EU and national and regional networks in a sustainable (long-lasting) effectively aligned network hubs
About MATCH
The project is coordinated by Italian Centro Sviluppo Materiali and the whole consortium consists of 18 partners from nine countries representing the six related European Technology Platforms and several major European material research organisations. These partners are: Centro Sviluppo Materiali, The European Chemical Industry Council, European Virtual Institute on Knowledge-based Multifunctional Materials, Institute of Materials;Minerals and Mining, The European Apparel and Textile Confederation, NANOfutures, Fundación TECNALIA Research & Innovation, European Materials Research Society, Laboratorio di Scienze della Cittadinanza, Fundación TEKNIKER; IK4-TEKNIKER, Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, Energy Materials Industrial Research Initiative, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Federation of European Materials Societies, Spinverse and FCT-UNL.
The project started in January 2015 and will continue for 30 months until June 2017 with a total budget of 2 MEUR.
