The five-year DEMAPP program, managed by Spinverse, received a positive funding decision from Tekes in June 2010. Tekes will fund the participating organizations in the program with a maximum of 3.9 Million euros during the second year (1.6.2010-31.5.2011).
Now in the second year the program was extended with six new partners, including Moventas Wind Oy, Metso Paper Oy, Componenta Oyj, Konecranes Oyj, Alteams Oy, Nurmi Hydraulics Oy, Keskipakovalu Oy and Carbodeon Ltd Oy.
DEMAPP is one of the six programmes that Fimecc Ltdhas started in 2009. Fimecc is the Finnish Metals and Engineering Cluster, one of Finland’s five new Strategic Centers of Excellence for science, technology and innovation (SHOKs).
DEMAPP aims to create profound understanding of wear mechanisms in applications for process and energy industry and to develop novel breakthrough materials with improved performance in extreme conditions. The program participants consist of several companies in the metals and engineering industry, their supplier and customer companies as well was the best research organizations in the field. Key emphasis is put on material and energy efficiency, sustainable life-cycle performance and safety aspects.
