A chapter in Nanotechnologies for Future Mobile Devices by Spinverse experts Tom Crawley, Laura Juvonen and Pekka Koponen "make it stand out from other overviews and reviews" according to Science Magazine. The book, which is edited by Tapani Ryhänen, Mikko Uusitalo, Olli Ikkala, and Asta Kärkkäinen, is reviewed in Science Magazine's volume 329 (17 September 2010).

In the chapter "Seeing beyond the hype" Spinverse experts use two frameworks to analyze technology development: the S-curve (which maps the performance of a new technology over time) and the hype cycle. Science Magazine's reviewer Marc Lavine concludes: "Anyone looking to develop and commercialize promising emergent scientific and engineering advances - even researchers working outside the core areas covered in the volume - will certainly find this chapter worth reading."
