Spinverse has widened its company investment portfolio by investing in Academy of Brain, a Finnish company providing online mental training courses. Laura Koponen of Spinverse will also join the company’s board of directors.
Spinverse made an initial investment to a Helsinki-based education company Academy of Brain, which is actively seeking for growth in international markets. The core of the company’s offering is to help people to develop their skills in human relationships through online trainings. The company’s courses improve interaction skills, leadership as well as the way to operate under pressure. In addition, the courses help to focus and to recover.
Laura Koponen, Managing Director of Spinverse says that robotization will take over jobs in traditional industries and AI in knowledge-intensive industries. Humans will be competitive only with better skills in human relationships, which means the need for developing them will only increase in the future.
”There’s a massive change going on: People need new skills for leadership, motivation and handling pressure. This is why the offering of Academy of Brain is riding the wave right now, and this is why we want to support their expansion abroad”, she states.
Spinverse has earlier invested in two other companies. 3D Bear Oy produces e.g. educational materials based on virtual and augmented reality. Woodly Oy develops wood-based plastics for food industry.
”The common nominator in our portfolio companies is that they all are based in radical innovations, which will disrupt traditional businesses”, Ms. Koponen summarizes.
